Fatal Error When Installing New Plug In

I just purchased a single license....downloaded the zip file and uploaded it into wordpress. It said I had a successful install but then when I click the activate link I get this message:

Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or '}' in /home/content/a/n/d/andriamullaney/html/wp-content/plugins/gravityforms/gravityforms.php on line 41

Is this because I need to add my reg license key before I click activate? What's going wrong?

    Thank you!

  3. andria,
99% of times, activation errors are caused by you running PHP 4. Gravity Forms require PHP 5. This is usually a configuration setting in your hosting environment. Please double check that your are running PHP 5. If you are and still have problems activating the plugin, we will dig deeper.

  6. Hello Sam, I just looked at the sourcecode for your samguillen.com web site. Are you referring to the fact that the site isn't styled and appears to be text only? This isn't Gravity Forms related.

This is due to the fact all the CSS and JavaScript is being called from "http://builderadvisor.com" and not "http://www.samguillen.com" like it should be.

Did you move the site from one domain to another?

  7. Yea that was the problem.

Now that I am up and running again with PHP 5 - I still get

Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or '}' in /home/content/s/g/u/sguillen/html/wp-content/plugins/gravityforms/gravityforms.php on line 41

when trying to activate gravity forms from the plugin's.

  8. What other plugins do you have installed? What version of MySQL are you running?

  10. Very strange, can you try and deactivate all plugins and then see what happens.

Also try and activate the plugin again. Sometimes when you switch to PHP5 it doesn't take effect right away. We've had customers who have seen delays in PHP5 actually becoming active once they make the switch in their control panel.

  11. yea the PHP 5 did take 24 hours to switch but that was about 36 hours ago.

I detacitivated all plugins and Gravity Forms still failed.

  14. The issue was his web host, despite saying it was running PHP5, was in fact still running PHP4.
