Form Not Submitting & Preview Not Working

    Hello Gravity Forms,

    First, great plugin. I use it on one of my sites without a problem. I am currently working on a different site and I cannot get the form to submit and I cannot get the form to preview.

    I saw on the forums that the problem with the preview is related to the permalinks. I would like to use the custom structure that I have and I am not able to at this moment. I was wondering what the fix was that you all came up with.

    In addition, after completing the form, the form does not submit and it is not being entered. I do use a cache program, but that does not seem to be the problem. I use the same cache program with my other site without a problem.

    I see this site is on a Windows server. This is going to be an IIS url rewriting issue. If you send us a WordPress admin login for the site via our Contact Us form we can take a look, but it's going to be due to how Windows does rewriting.

    Windows + Permalinks = Problems. The way it does rewriting can cause issues for WordPress and plugins because it mimics the permalink while doing a different kind of URL rewriting on the backend. If you are running WordPress and PHP applications you should really stay away from a Windows based server.

    Hi Carl,

    So, I changed the permalinks from the custom structure (/%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%/) to default and the forms worked.

    However, I need to be able to use the custom structure. Do you have any suggestions?

    This is an IIS permalinks issue. Your rewriting isn't being done in a standard way. I'm not 100% sure how to make this work because the url rewriting isn't being done in a standard way. Windows IIS handles permalinks via a hack.

    I would suggest seeing if you can use a Linux server instead of Windows. Running WordPress and PHP on a Microsoft server is a recipe for issues. It's a bit like trying to put a truck engine in a motorcycle. They are both engines, and you could make it work, but they aren't really designed for each other.
