Form overview for editing

  1. Just spent the last 2 weeks programming in a 200 question survey in 4 multi-page forms and had a few items on my wish list.

The top item would be a summary table view for longer forms. Something that would list the title, field type, is it required, and any css applied. it would make long forms much easier to setup and maintain.

  2. What would you want to use this summary table view for? If you can provide more details that will help us understand what the use case would be.

We are planning on implementing a way to quickly re-arrange fields in the editor using a new view in a lightbox, but it will only be for re-arranging fields and making other minor changes. Think of the bulk edit option when editing Posts but for Forms.

  3. I was thinking of a quick way to look over the fields and see what CSS settings were assigned or whether a field was required. With one of the forms being 22 pages long and over 100 questions I didn't require the fields for testing, but now am having to go back through it field by field to set this field. Or to change all of the multiple choice questions to 3 column instead of 4 column because one of them were wraping wrong and messing up the formats.

One of the clients are asking for some of the questions to be re-arranged, so your planned implementation of using it to reorder fields would be great too. I can see this helping when a client wants to change out a multiple choice for a drop down back at question 2 of a 50 question form - or the possibility to change a element type.

  4. What we want to do in the future is going to be a way to manage long forms and do quick changes such as re-ordering them and editing SOME (not all) options in a quick and easy way and apply global changes to multiple fields that way. So it is something we plan on introducing in the future.
