Form redirecting to homepage instead of sending

  1. Form is here:
    http://northpointfitness.com/index.php/contact-us/

I'm having the same problem as this person:
    http://www.gravityhelp.com/forums/topic/no-confirmation-not-sending-just-redirecting

Using GF is usually touch and go but could you help tell us why on this page

    http://alcovamortgage.com/contact/?page_id=65

when you hit submit, it just redirects to the homepage? The confirmation message is set to text, not redirect. And the message doesn't get emailed.

We haven't had problems sending mail with the custom theme before, so I hope that's ruled out.

It looks like that was never resolved... anyone know what could be up with my form?

  2. This is going to be related to running on IIS6 and the URL rewrites.

Can you submit the form from the preview (which by default will uses non-pretty permalinks.)

And can you try without pretty permalinks active and see if it will submit?

I submitted a test using this URL:
    http://northpointfitness.com/index.php?page_id=19

And I got this confirmation displayed to me:
Thanks for contacting us! We will get in touch with you shortly.

Running WordPress on IIS 6 is troublesome when it comes to rewriting the URLs.

  3. When I submit it from the preview, it doesn't work, but it does work with default permalinks. Is there any possible way I can get this to work without resorting to default permalinks? I definitely wish my company had a non-windows server for all of our WordPress work, but unfortunately it's not something I have any control over.

  4. This isn't a permalink issue. It's a Microsoft IIS URL rewriting issue. It doesn't properly handle the permalinks. Because the default permalinks use no url rewriting at all, that is why it works. If you use permalinks that use URL rewriting, it's not going to work because of how your web host has implemented rewriting. Older versions of IIS implement it as a hack, and that causes problems for WordPress and plugins.
