Form won't save

  1. Hi, I have searched the forum and tried everything, but still can't get a form to save, not to mention adding fields.
I have followed the instructions from http://www.nerdgrind.com/increase-wordpress-and-php-memory-limit/ and increased the memory limit in the php.ini and in the wp-config files to 128M. I have tried this in several browsers. I am using the latest versions of Gravity and WP, this is a new install this month. But despite all this, when I go to add a new form and save it, the little circle just keeps going, nothing happens. Clicking on a new field does nothing.
This site is hosted on Network Solutions - not my choice. http://buzzbrush.com/bbwp No form page, can't create one! I am willing to give login info through private channels, please help as soon as you can. I need to get this moving.
    Thanks,
    Becky

  2. Becky have you checked for a theme/plugin conflict yet? If not, please do so by following the instructions here:

  3. OK, I have done the tests and now have a bigger problem. It was not the theme (child of twentyeleven.)

But I did have to deactivate all of the following to get anything in the form editor to work:
    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/responsive-slider/
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/widgets-controller/ (tried dynamic widgets as well)
    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/vipers-video-quicktags/

I'm guessing that this is a major javascript conflict? Will I have to deactivate everything to get the forms done? Will the forms even work once I re-activate them? There must be a better way. If this was one issue, I'd live, but for it to affect so many - very concerning. I'm also just getting started with the build, who knows what else I may need. I will be adding Cart66 and using forms for the product variations. Dealing with adding a new form once the site is live will be a major issue. Please let me know.
    Thanks

  4. When you find a plugin conflict like this, it's almost always not the fault of Gravity Forms. Other plugins sometimes do not use best practices and output their CSS and JavaScript on every page in the admin, rather than just their own plugin's admin page, or sometimes it's only necessary on the front end, but it's included in the back end as well.

If you deactivate the plugins and you can create a test form (use conditional logic, AJAX submission or a date picker field to get a good test for jQuery conflicts), I would do that, then activate the plugins again, and post a link to your test form. We can check at that point to see if there a plugin conflict on the front end as well.

  5. I do have a basic one out there that you can look at now. http://buzzbrush.com/bbwp/contact-buzz/

I get what you're saying, but it also sounds like the typical tech 'point at the other guy' and is going to make my dev process very painful. Anything further you can do to help with this will be appreciated.
    Thanks

  6. We're not trying to make your dev process painful: we're trying to help.

Are you having and trouble with this http://buzzbrush.com/bbwp/contact-buzz/ form right now (I was able to submit a test, but the problem you were having was in creating forms, not using them, correct)?

If there is no problem currently, can you enable the plugins which were causing a problem before so we can check for what the conflict with those plugins might be? We're going to need to see it broken to determine what is breaking it.

  7. Yes, it's in creating/editing where the problem lies. I have all the plugins enabled now and can't edit that form. I get an Ajax error when trying to add a field and it won't save. During dev I can deactivate to get new forms going, but when the site is live and a new product needs to be added, if it needs a form, this will be a huge issue.

If you can give me a private way to send you the login, I'd be happy to have you look at it from the dashboard so you can see it broken. Thanks for your help.
p.s. I did get your test form submission, so the front end appears to be OK.

  8. Hi again,

I had a sneaking suspicion and just migrated this site off of Network Solutions to my own host and now am having no problems with adding or editing while all plugins are active. Getting anything to work on Network Solutions seems to be an ongoing issue and they do not have normal server settings. I will address this with the client, but if you have any further thoughts on how I might get this working with NS, I'd appreciate it. Again, happy to provide private login info, so you can see what's happening on the NS install, never know who we might be able to help with the info you gather.
    Thanks,
    Becky

    Hi there,

I'm pretty much having the same problems. It seems to be conflicting with the genesis framework in my case. Any solutions out there?
