Forms break with HTTPS / SSL

  1. Gravity 1.5 rc 4

When using unsecured connection to form, everyuthing works perfect. I can use the next, and previous buttons and it works perfectly.

When accessing page (form embedded) with HTTPS, the form comes up, but when you hit next, it errors with this:

Safari can’t open the page “https://nuimagemedical.com:443:443/order/#gf_2” because the page’s address isn’t valid.

We have a valid SSL, so that is not the issue. Its a form issue because it works perfect with just HTTP

Please advise, as we collect sensitive data

    Thank You

  3. I can't recreate this issue.. I successfully navigated and submitted a test form. I checked this out in a few browsers with no errors. You can see that I navigated to the second page in Safari with no visible errors or issues.

  4. Im not George Lucas, but here is a video of the crash live.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1nJArKqtkK8

Now, I've narrowed it down to a Mac using Safari 5.0.4

I have not been able to replicate the problem on Mac Firefox of Mac Chrome, ONLY Safari which is what I primarily use, and only when using a secured connection.

    To replicate goto:

    https://www.nuimagemedical.com/order

I can make it crash 3 way.

    1. Complete info on the first page, hit NEXT, then after the second NEXT, it crashes

    2. Complete info on first page, but forget to choose shipping option and hit NEXT. The form will notify you that something was forgot. NOW, pick any shipping type and hit NEXT. The form crashes.

    3. Complete all info on first page, hit NEXT. On second page, hit PREVIOUS, and the form crashes.

This problem does not exist when using a unsecured browser session (http) and does not happen on Mac Firefox 4 RC or Chrome 10 for Mac. I have not tested it on Windows browsers yet.

    Please advise.

  5. Okay, I do see it now. Thanks for the guide. The form action is duplicating the port address portion of the URL and it's breaking. I know there's a fix in the upcoming release version to prevent. I'll get in touch with our lead programmer and see if I can get you a patch in the interim.

  8. Yes, sorry to keep you waiting. Actually the new 1.5 version is public now and it has the fix for the URL port duplication issue. You should be able to run the auto-update from the plugin admin or you can download the file directly from the downloads page.
