Forms disappear and don't get submitted - user redirected to home page

    Hello

    I just received a complaint that users will fill out a form, and when they submit it , the form disappears and doesn't get submitted. The user is returned to the Home Page.

    Client says he's been there with people when this has happened, and it doesn't look like user error. The issue only happens intermittently.

    I know this is not a lot to go on. At this time I don't know what browsers are being used or any other info. It sounds like the connection is timing out.

    Have you heard of this type of thing happening?
    Do you have any ideas on what might be the cause?

    Intermittent errors are the worst because it doesn't leave us much to troubleshoot with, or the ability to test to see if things have been solved. I can say that we have the following documentation relating to isolating errors, though I'm not sure how much help that will be: http://www.gravityhelp.com/documentation/page/Testing_for_a_Theme/Plugin_Conflict

    I doubt it is a script timeout. Most likely either a theme or plugin issue or maybe a permalinks issue? I know some people have had issues with redirection that were solved by changing the permalinks to default and then back to whatever custom setting you have enabled.

    An intermittent issue with a theme or plugin would be more improbable than trying to find a needle in a haystack.

    I know some people have had issues with redirection that were solved by changing the permalinks to default and then back to whatever custom setting you have enabled.

    I have no idea what you are referring to here. What redirection is or would be in play?

    Are there any other instances where you've heard of a similar issue occurring?

    You said that users are redirected to the home page. Redirection only happens once a form is submitted, and should do what your confirmation settings in Gravity Forms are set to do (show a message or redirect to a page/site). Sometimes, incorrect htaccess rules can mess this up, hence why I've asked you to change the permalinks to something else and then back again.

    I have heard of similar things happening before, but the solution in each case was different, and took a long time to sort out. Everyone had to go through the same steps I posted above to test and isolate the issue. There is no simple cure for an intermittent error.

    Hi!

    I am having a similar problem except that it happens every time a user tries to submit a review on my website. A user will fill out the form completely, hit the submit button, it takes forever to submit (seems to stall), and then once it seems to submit it just goes back to the same page and all of the information is gone. The post never submitted and the information is lost. What could be wrong? This is very discouraging.
