Forms wont show up using conditional logic

    Gravity Forms: 1.6.11
    WordPress: 3.5
URL: http://ficquotes.com/getting-started/ (has simple form, but does not display)

Not sure, but problem right out of the gate unfortunately. Shows up on default theme but not on the theme I'm using right now. Have no clue where the problem is but the Gravity form does show up as soon as I remove the conditional logic. Help please, thanks

  2. Your theme is including a very old version of Gravity Forms (1.4.2). Gravity Forms requires the version of jQuery which shipped with your WordPress version. If you remove this old version and include the proper version (which normally happens by default in WordPress) I think you will find that the form displays properly.

You can determine where this old version is coming from by checking for theme and plugin conflicts. Here are the instructions for that: http://rkt.gs/testing

Will removing the WordPress installation through my cpanel and or clearing the whole thing from my file manager clear out everything? I uninstalled it using the option under settings but it doesn't seem to have "taken". I thought it was on a fresh install.

  4. Uninstalling is not going to fix your problem, unless you use a different theme which includes the properly jQuery version, and you have no other plugins which are loading an old version.

I would follow the troubleshooting steps here http://rkt.gs/testing and determine where the old jQuery version is coming from, then determine how to fix it from there.

So this is incompatible with themes that use an old jQuery version? It's a fresh install with only the theme added and gravity forms. Yes I did look at trouble shooting but the plugins don't apply since there are none installed. Yes indeed the forms do work with the conditional logic using the twenty-twelve theme but not the theme I'm using. What version of jQuery is the theme using that is not working with Gravity Forms?

PS: While waiting for your reply I'll go ahead and see if I can reinstall WordPress. Thanks Chris

  6. Your theme is including jQuery version 1.4.2.

You are correct that Gravity Forms will only work with the proper jQuery version for your WordPress version. That is currently 1.8.3.

There is no need to reinstall WordPress or Gravity Forms. You just need to include the proper jQuery version. It's possible your theme has a hard-coded reference to include jQuery. If you remove that hard-coded inclusion of jQuery and let WordPress do its job, you will have the proper jQuery version and your Gravity Forms with conditional logic will work fine.

I just changed the theme. It works, Thank you. I guess it's just the quality of the theme we buy,

  8. Thank you for that update. Your theme was using an outdated version of jQuery and that's what was causing the problem.
