From name and sender in WPMU

We have bought the personal edition of GravityForms to test this in our Wordpress Network. The network uses multiple domains. When we would like the sender of the mail also be the From Sender in the email it is overruled by the Network domain. Also if we manual insert a From Sender and Email in the Gravity Form plugin it still is overruled by the Netwrok domain.

Does the Developer License bring difference in this issue because this is a very big go/no-go to buy the Dev License. Or is there a solution to fix this?

  2. I'm actually having the same problem, but I have the developer license. So apparently not - have you learned anything since posting this? Am going to start another thread...

The short answer is this is not Gravity Forms that is doing this. There is no difference between sending an email in WordPress or WordPress Multi-Site. Both send email by calling the built in WordPress wp_mail() function and Gravity Forms passes it the data you have configured for your notifications.

If the Send From that you have configured in the notification settings is not being used when the email is sent, then that means that either...

    A) You have encountered a theme or plugin conflict that is causing the issue. What can happen is a theme or a plugin can incorrectly use WordPress hooks to customize the wp_mail() function and hardcode the Send From address in the process by not using the hooks properly.

One plugin that does this is the Magic Members plugin. It uses a filter to set the Send From used by ALL wp_mail() function calls. Themes and plugins should be calling the wp_mail() function, not using hooks and filters to globally change it. To test for theme and plugin conflicts you can do so by following these instructions:

    http://www.gravityhelp.com/documentation/page/Testing_for_a_Theme/Plugin_Conflict

    B) Your web server is configured in such a way that the Send From used by outgoing email cannot be customized. This is rarer than A above.
