Front-end editing

We're looking to offer our members the ability to sign up and create a profile, then create posts.

But we also need to allow them to edit their posts via the front end.

For us to get on the right path, I understand the first thing we need to use is the User Registration Add-on in conjunction with Tadlock's Members plugin.

Looking at the documentation for Gravity Forms Core Capabilities the one we need to focus on is the following:

    gravityforms_edit_entries

    Is this correct?

If not then can someone please point me on the correct path to front-end editing nirvana?

I've seen some really cool premium themes by CosmosThemes.com which are offering front end editing, so I am hoping to reverse engineer them.

  2. I too would like my users to have the ability to do Front-End Editing on the posts that they created through gravity forms.

I already have justin tadlock's members plugin, and I'm trying to figure out how to give users the ability to edit ONLY their posts that they created through the Gravity Forms Post Submission Interface that I created.

Any suggestions would be well appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  4. @GZA actual SUPPORT topics/requests for functionality problems are fielded before CUSTOMIZATION requests like yours. Somebody will be happy to look your topic over and offer some pointers as soon as we can.

I know that GZA's comments may seem aggravating, with all the work that your team is doing (especially answering questions for noobs that posted without reading the answers in other previous posts first...lol). Not to speak for anyone else, but I have a feeling that GZA is simply anxious, as are many of us, regarding this Front End Editing feature. Hearing about it has made us excited at the possibilities.

I will say that I am currently at a loss on a huge project of mine, until this gets released, and I'm sure that a few others are as well. I, for one, am not mad at GF for not having the release as of yet, but like any other customer (of anything), I am simply impatient. ;) - I'm sure you know how we feel.

Gravity Forms is awesome, and provides an excellent product. All of us in the waiting for this feature are extremely excited, and I'm sure that all of us knew (when we paid) that it wasn't available, however, the simple notification that it will be available has opened up several doors for most of us, and thus has made us excited. That excitement turns to impatience, that impatience turns to anxiousness and that anxiousness turns to irritation. It's just the emotional cycle that we, as people, have. It is nothing against Gravity Forms - Gravity Forms is doing a phenomenal job - As GZA mentioned in another support post that I read, he switched from another platform because Gravity Forms is such a better product with a much higher level of support.

In fact....in my own anxiousness, I filled out a priority support form last night asking about the pending release of 1.7; which is scheduled to include Front End Editing for form authors.

...We can't help it Kev...You and the rest of Gravity Forms have created a bitchin' product that has served us well and we are excited for the upcoming capabilities....that's what you get for making something great!

    Hey Kevin,

This is great. But I have to say at first glance I couldnt quite figure out how to use it. I read the readme but still not 100% sure how to allow front end editing of posts. Care to break it down a little further.

    Thanks
    R
