Getting an error: "Please enter a valid value"

  1. Hi guys,

I'm getting a weird error with one of my forms: "Please enter a valid value."

    My form field settings are:
    Single product,
    Disable quantity field,
    Not required,
Enable conditional logic "show this field if answer is yes...."

I don't seem to be getting this with any of my other forms set up the same way.

This is a screenshot of the error: http://chilliwackdesign.com/wp-content/themes/chilliwackdesign-june-2012/uploads/images/valid-value.jpg

This is the link to the form: http://chilliwackdesign.com/custom-business-card-design/

    Any ideas? Thanks.

  2. Can you please export that form and email it to chris@rocketgenius.com - I'd like to install it locally and take a look at it. Thank you.

  5. I have pinged the developers on this one. I'm not sure why this is happening yet. Thanks for your patience.

  6. Hi, chilliwackdesign,

As a workaround until we can fix this bug, can you change the field label from "500 Custom Designed & Printed Business Cards Subtotal" to use the word "and" instead of the ampersand?

We do additional validation on product fields which involves encoding/decoding/hashing/serializing field data. The problem looks to be that when we save the data, the ampersand is the html representation and when doing the validation it is the actual character, so they aren't matching.

We will work on fixing that, but until we get that fix in place, change your label to use the word "and" and you should be good to go.

  7. That did the trick, thanks.

As a side issue, I'm not getting email notifications when I subscribe to threads in this forum.

  8. The email subscribe to topic function is a little flaky with this version of bbPress. Sorry about that.

  9. I just wanted to give an update on this. I have reviewed the code and discussed this issue with our lead developer, and this appears to be a very rare instance and we are going to hold off on changing any code at this time.

When I tested out this issue, I found that when I used the actual ampersand in the title, the validation would work. The problem seems to only come up if the user actually types in the html representation for characters.

We will revisit this issue if the frequency of users having the problem increases; you were actually the first one.

    Thanks.
