Getting Error, but no highlighting

  1. Hi... I have a problem somewhat similar to the one reported here: http://bit.ly/RWSCBT. The chief difference, though, is that it occurs whenever a required field is skipped. I get "There was a problem with your submission. Errors have been highlighted below." but nothing is highlighted. The progress bar also fills in and displays a negative value (-34%). I use just one conditional field and one dynamic field.

It's not a plug in conflict, as I've already tested for that. It shouldn't be a theme conflict, as the validation/highlighting worked properly fairly recently.

Thanks in advance for any help.

  2. I suppose it'd be helpful if I gave my URL: http://52novels.com. I have several forms (copies of each other, really). The behavior is consistent regardless.

  3. The last time this happened, the validation error appeared but there was no highlighted field because the field was hidden by conditional logic. The form had been edited after the rules were created and the conditional rules were no longer up to date. Can you check for that please?

The progress bar and lack of form after submission with validation errors is interesting.

Can you try without AJAX enabled? And can you try without the conditional logic? I'm having a hard time loading the page reliably tonight to test this. I will try again tomorrow.

  4. I'm not sure that conditional logic is the issue: I'd never created any fields with conditional logic --- or added it to any fields --- until this morning. It's on one form and it appears on page 2 of the form and is triggered by the response to the field preceding it (label: Does your book have images?). I've removed the CL on the one field/form. I've also disabled AJAX.

FWIW, on my Query Us page (http://www.52novels.com/query-us/ ), I have a second form in the sidebar and the validation is working on that form.

    Thanks!

  5. That's certainly strange and not something I've seen before. If you submit the form from the form preview, does it work properly then?

If it works fine there, it's likely a theme or plugin conflict, although you have tested for those already. If you'd like me to take a look, please send an email to chris@rocketgenius.com with a WordPress administrator login. Thank you.

  6. I just set you up as an admin. You should be getting an email from the Web site. If not, I'll send login info directly. Thanks!

  10. Good call Rob. Looks like 1.6.8:

Can you please update to 1.6.8.1 and see if that takes care of this problem?

  11. Thanks. I'm at 1.6.8. Trying to update via Wordpress plugin admin fails (Destination folder already exists). Is there another way you recommend?

Curious: Why wouldn't this update be pushed, as with other updates?

  12. It's because it was a minor release that happened the very next day. You need to deactivate and delete the current version. Then install and activate the new version. You won't lose any data in doing this.
