GF 1.4.2 - just installed, when I try to "Insert Form" onto a page, JS error

Fresh install, form is created. When I hit the insert button above the WYSIWYG box a dialog opens. I select the form then hit insert and nothing happens. Firebox tells me:

    win.send_to_editor is not a function.

    Any ideas?

  2. The first thing you need to do is clear your browser cache completely. It could be using cached JS and not working properly. Clear your cache completely and then restart your browser and then go to the post/page editor and insert a form using the Insert Form Wizard.

If that doesn't work then it could be a theme or plugin conflict. Do you know how to test for theme and plugin conflicts?

Update: So I tested against IE 7, which does work fine. I guess the issue might be cache related -- or just FF related....running version 3.6.9

Update 2: Everything seems to be working fine with IE7, but not working in Firefox. I cleared the cache, etc....no change.

Any ideas? Can anyone confirm 1.4.2 is working in FF?

Update 3: I was able to get the form to appear on the front end (needed wrapping into a div tag). I went in and re-tested the admin section still has a missing function though....so I guess I can move forward with my project for now. I'd assume that a patch would need to happen on the software to get that function working for FF...?

Any updates on this? IE 7 works, FF, Chrome do not.

Can you test this on your end?

Try to add a form to a page using the WYSIWYG page editor.

Minor bug at this point, could be worth setting up a bug tracker for Gravity Forms to help track the bugs submitted from users.

    Thanks,
    Matt

  7. There is no update, you need to test for plugin and theme conflicts as I mentioned above.

Nobody else is reporting any Firefox or Chrome issues with 1.4.2 and in fact our primary browsers are FireFox, Chrome and Safari so we would be experiencing the issue also.

You need to check for theme and plugin conflicts that could be causing the issue. As I asked above, do you know how to check for conflicts? If not I can provide instructions.

    Carl,

I am getting same error in FF 3.6.9.

Error: win.send_to_editor is not a function
    Source File: http://ox.websuccessagency.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=43&action=edit
    Line: 809

So, that's true it's not working with FF 3.6.9. Does that conflict with other plugin?

"Custom Template Fields" is getting loaded in same page too, so does that cause any issue?

  9. If you are having a Javascript issue you will have to test for plugin AND theme conflicts. Do you know how to test for these properly? You have to deactivate all other plugins AND activate the default theme. Then you have to activate each of the plugins and your theme ONE by ONE and test after each one until you determine which one is causing the issue.

Same problem here. In my case Akismet caused the conflict.

  11. @rohans Can you provide more details? We haven't had any reports of Akismet causing a conflict and we run Akismet ourselves without a problem. What exactly was the issue or error and what resolved it? Also what browser, browser version and version of Akismet?
