GForms and MS365

Hi, I've used your plugin for quite awhile and have been very happy with it, but we're experiencing problems with it sending or BCCing to any email address that is on MS 365. I have already contacted MS 365 and they've tested it backwards and forwards and don't think their service is the issue. What could be the problem?

    Thanks,
    Eve

  2. Are you talking about Microsoft Office Live 365?

If that is the only domain having trouble receiving the emails, I would say they do not like something about the notifications being sent by your Gravity Forms.

Here is a good article on reliable email delivery:

You can also try using an authenticated SMTP server rather than your web host's mail function. Please see here for some SMTP plugin suggestions and additional troubleshooting tips: http://www.gravityhelp.com/documentation/page/Troubleshooting_Notifications

The solution you need might not be the same solution, so please go through the troubleshooting steps that Chris listed above.

  5. Hi David,

I went ahead and read through all of the trouble shooting and contacted my provider about reviewing the server log. I just wanted to get more information to see if it may be the same issue.

    Thank you.

Eve hasn't posted here since, so I'm not sure if she'll check in on the forums, or even if she subscribed to this topic. Hopefully, you can get things sorted out. Let us know your progress.

  7. Hi David,

I went back to Microsoft to see what the problem was regarding gravity forms sending notifications to my Microsoft account. At first we thought the issue was us, so we went ahead and set the notification from gravity forms to a Gmail account, a private hosted account and a yahoo account. They all work fine.

We then went back to Microsoft, thinking there was a SMTP block and asked them to review the logs. After about a month of waiting, they just got back to me and said that the mail flow and protection departments say that the emails never reached their servers.

Do you know what could be causing the problem?

No, I'm sorry. You've proven that Gravity Forms works, and that WordPress' PHP sendmail script (wp-mail.php) works, and if they never received the e-mail, then that says to me that the server sending it filtered it out before sending it to them.

  9. Hi David,
What does that mean " the server sending it filtered it out before sending it to them"? How do I fix that?

You will want to talk to your web host about the issue, as there isn't anything we can do regarding this kind of issue. You've proven that Gravity Forms works with various accounts, and we don't have any code that shows preference for one e-mail company over another, and if Microsoft says they didn't get the e-mail, then it must be on the sending side, no?
