Google Apps Emails not going out

  1. I'm a Google Apps user and every now and again my notifications stop going out.

I've checked with Google's support who assures me all my email (MX) setting are correct.

Why would they stop going out at one point and then start again - like it did 3 months ago.

Now it's off again and this is become a really big pain in the ass.

I've got people filling in the form after attending a webinar expecting to receive an instant response to filling in a form but as of now nobody has received an email all day.

Pages currently impacted include but not limited to:
    - http://ShiftSelling.com/Friends

    Thanks!

  2. Same as on my last post.

Should have set up multiple MX records that sets up a priority if one Google Apps mail server gets busy.

    Good Luck!

  3. Here is something else that might help.

I emailed the support team at Dreamhost about this issue and here is what they had to say

The mail coming from the web server doesn't using Google apps, *** the webserver itself sends the emails. ***

If you have any more questions then please let me know.

    Thanks!
    Daniel J

I have sent them another request asking if there is a way for the emails to sent directly via Google apps or a way for the emails to go out immediately.

Dreamhost had an issue over the past couple of days:

Dreamhost Status: Sending of mail from sites and scripts delayed

There is some additional information on it in this thead:

Email notifications stopped working all of a sudden.

Basically, Google Apps shouldn't have much to do with the sending of emails. Your host will do that. Perhaps try using one of the plugins in the thread above, and see if that helps, but it sounds like the issue at Dreamhost is resolved.

  5. Kyle;

    Thanks for the heads up.

This morning I installed Cimy Swift SMTP which was incredibly easy to setup and test.

Once I did that my notifications went out immediately.

Even though it may have been coincidental but I'm going to leave Cimy Swift SMTP up and running.

    Thanks again,

    Craig
