Google Calendar integration

  1. Hi I wondered if it was currently possible or if it would be possible in the future to have a form which, when sent automatically updated a google calender? ie in the form a time and date was selected and this auto updated a google cal and inserted other information in the notes field....

    thanks

    Dave

  2. Currently this isn't a built in feature and we don't have an Add-On for it.

We do have plans for a Google Apps Add-On that would enable you to integrate with Google Spreadsheets (adding a new row to the spreadsheet when a form is submitted) as well as Google Calendar.

Until then the only way to do this would be to write custom code to integrate with their API.

  4. Hi guys, Great news to hear there are plans for a Google Apps add-on. This is something we'd love to see. Sending form data to Google docs spreadsheets and the ability to give our clients a form they can use to easily add events via their website and appear in their Google calendar would be great.

    Thanks

  5. Just curious if there is currently an ETA for release of the google apps add-on

Posted 12 years ago on Wednesday August 31, 2011 | Permalink
  6. There is currently no ETA. We can't provide an ETA until we've begun active development on a feature or Add-On and this isn't a project we have started yet.

+1 - this add on would be huge for lots of people. With the ability for Wordpress to take a feed from my Google Calendar, this would create a super events calendar functionality out of GF...on top of everything else!

    Great idea.

  10. +10 to integration with Google Docs, its really the only other thing I'm looking to do that Gravity Forms doesnt currently support. As someone considering purchasing the Developer License this would be a huge benefit to us.

A need for this with a client has surfaced and would be greatly appreciated. Have you started development on this Add-On yet? Is it possible to tell us when you at least plan to start?

    Thanks!

  12. +1 for Spreadsheet integration.

Posted 12 years ago on Friday January 27, 2012 | Permalink
  13. We need this feature for one of our clients and we'll be starting development of a Gravity Form -> Google Docs (spreadsheets) Add-on next week. We are thinking of realising the Add-on to the public so we would much appreciate your thoughts on this integration. The specs for our client will be first priority but any features and wishes that will greatly benefit this Add-on may be taken into development.. So please let us know!

  14. Just from the top of my mind:

    The basic stuff:

    - being able to connect to a google doc account
    - being able to connect to a specific spreadsheet
    - being able to choose tab to connect with, within the spreadsheet
    - being able to map the form fields to the different columns
    - being able to send payment info to the spreadsheet (should be same as above form field info)
    - handling foreign/special characters (like http://www.gravityhelp.com/forums/topic/export-entries-with-special-characters)

Advanced (just an idea, not need-function)
    - being able to send form field info to different spreadsheets/tabs/columns - maybe through the use of conditional logic
    - PayPal info that updates in the form today (approved, refund, other?), may update in the google docs as well

  15. Hi alsc,

thanks! this exactly the list of features we have planned for the first release

Posted 12 years ago on Monday January 30, 2012 | Permalink
  16. Some people may want to add images through the form but that would go under Advanced if you ask me :)

Do you know when you will release the Add-on?

Posted 12 years ago on Monday January 30, 2012 | Permalink
  17. Hey guys! We are definitely excited to see the Google account add on. Our goal is to use one form for our clients to add their new clients to their Google Contacts (for Email, smart Phone, Calendaring, etc) - and have that sync into FreshBooks and MailChimp. That way they don't have to add each new client they add to each of those systems for marketing & invoicing automation.

Plan from there is to use Mail Chimp's RSS to email integration and a WordPress plugin to post to Social Media. So new clientele get all the news - and it takes a huge burden off us to automate.

So looking forward to a Google Account tie-in addon that works with Freshbooks and Mail Chimp Addon also...

    Thanks!

  18. NWeSource: So, the functions that Taeke wrote would be in the Add-on won't or will it be both?

Posted 12 years ago on Tuesday January 31, 2012 | Permalink
  19. Looking back it looks like and Taeke were more talking about Spreadsheet integration than the Google Contacts integration. I was originally referred to this conversation for what I am looking for so I may have read more into it than is accurate.

Taeke - is you're addon going to be able to sync forms to contacts within Google Apps you think? That is my big feature request...

    Thanks!

    Thanks!

  20. Our main focus will be on getting forms to push data to Google Docs (spreadsheets). I can imagine we will try to add other Google services like Contacts in a later stage

  21. @Taeke: Excellent answer! Do you have an estimated deadline?

I am considering purchasing Gravity Forms, but I probably won't do it until there's good Google Docs integration, since I already have my database in a Google Spreadsheet and want to keep it that way. Is there any estimate for when this feature might come online?

    Thanks!

  23. There is no estimate for this functionality being added to Gravity Forms at this time.

This is becoming more important as I am having more clients request this feature to integrate into Google Docs. Any news on the release date?

Posted 12 years ago on Friday March 16, 2012 | Permalink
  27. Definitely would like integration with Google Docs so that completed forms can be a shared google doc with my company.

    +1 Google Docs

  28. @Taeke - is there any update on your GravityForms->GoogleDocs extension? I'm looking to solve the same issue everyone else reports. Was the project scrapped, or have you completed it?

@Chris - just a little nudge to see if this feature has made it onto the official roadmap yet.

  29. Sorry guys, the project this plugin was being developed for was delayed a bit. We continued development and will have a beta version very soon, we are having some UI troubles we would like to solve first, will keep you posted!

  32. Is there any way to import a Google Form into a Gravity Form without starting from scratch?
I tried to: export Google Form to Excel, then save that file as .xml and then "Import Forms." I was given the error message "Forms could not be imported. Your XML export file is not compatible with your current version of Gravity Forms." I know this isn't a "Gravity Forms XML" but I figured I'd try anyway. Thanks.

SG - Unfortunately, you have to start from scratch as there isn't a way to do what you are asking without taking a lot of time to match our XML format and that would take longer than just re-creating your form from scratch.

  34. I have just read this thread for the first time. I'm very excited about this add-on which seems to do exactly what I need to get my form entries into Google spread.

First thing I did was to email Taeke for the .zip file. Can anybody report from your experiences with the add-on?

Posted 11 years ago on Monday July 23, 2012 | Permalink
  35. Also it seems like most of you guys uses the Google suite more extensive than most people do.

I'm currently planning on adding features to my one-man business' "google spread database" using Google Apps Script.

Can anyone help me in the right direction posting their most important does and don'ts or other experiences? Also pointing me towards good programmers would be highly appreciated.

    Thank you in advance.

  36. I have talked to the guys behind the spreadsheet integration as I am a heavy beta tester (I use the system on production and it works).

    However.

They don't make it an option to carry any PayPal status information (processing, approved) through to the spreadsheet and that is a deal breaker for me as I use the system to list payments in google docs.

Without the status, the payments becomes irrelevant as all info is tranferred as soon as the user is sent to PayPal no matter if they end up paying or not. I therefore need to double check everything and then I could as easily export from Gravity Form.s

It will take 40 hours and cost €3.000 to do so and that is somewhat too steep for me and my dance association to pay by ourselves.

Anyone else who could use the function and would share the expenses? The more, the cheaper. Please let me know by sending a mail to allan@ctrl-x.dk.

    Thank you.

+1 for google calendar integration. We use GravityForms to gather event information from staff, then manually enter it into Google Calendar.

There are advantages to a manual process in that every event is edited beforehand; but perhaps an approval mechanism could be included.

+1 As well. I believe with the successful paypal integration, this should become the forefront.

  39. I have talked to the guys behind the Google Docs add on and they are willing to put the functionality into a premium version of the plugin and provide a kickback for each sold unit.

Therefore, we could split the cost, you would get your money back and the plugin now.

Send a mail to allan@ctrl-x.dk If you are interested.

Hi... I checked out the form on CodeCanyon but I noticed the form was only GF to G Calendar.

I am looking for GF to G spreadsheet. (ie: each new form entry will populate an entry in my google excel spreadsheet).

I found this but it doesn't seem ready for launch: https://zapier.com/zapbook/google-docs/gravity-forms/

Anyone know where I can get this add-on?

    Thanks

  47. Taeke actually made a GF to Google Spreadsheet plugin. It wwas beta but broke under the newest versions of WP. I have tried contacting him for updates but it seems that everything went on hold, which was sad. It had great potential (except the missing payment info -> Spreadsheet)
