Help: Multiple fields one row, custom input width, style description labels

    I'm not a developer and tried for 2 days to custom format my form using the CSS Guide and forum search, but no result.

    I've placed ids and clasess in theme stylesheet and tried the ones posted in forum, ie. float left to get next field to the right of it. No luck. Also, no result with trying to change width.

    I'm using Headway theme 1.5.6, could this be issue?

    Things I'd like to do
    - get the descriptions of fields closer to input box and make font bigger
    - control input box size (width) of several items
    - put multiple fields on one line (i.e. email next to phone, or create "{checkbox] I'd like to SELL MY [dropbox] HOME [dropbox]")
    - have "grouped" fields side-by-side (i.e "I'd like to SELL MY HOME" group and in next column to right "I want to BUY A HOME" group)
