Hidden category field, linked to conditional pricing

  1. Hi there

Just purchased the standard version of Gravity forms and requested a developer upgrade -- looking forward to recieving it!

I have a question on how to achieve the following in gravity forms, is it possible?

I would like to set up the forms so that there is a hidden field where a category is set automatically to a post. This is so I can identify the post for RSS distribution. So for example a post that has standard category would be fed to one RSS feed center, a bronze category would be fed to a different feed center, SIlver and Gold categories to seperate feed centers etc.

I'm then looking to charge different prices for each category. My first thought is that I would have to have different forms each one having a different category variable set by the hidden field. Perhaps I could do this by conditional forms instead, however If I did it in a conditional form, then could I also have a conditional price when the user gets redirected to paypal, with the price being based on the conditional form hidden variable category?

I hope I've explained this in an understandable way, can't wait to get the developer license upgrade code so I can start investigating the paypal add on...

Keep up the great work guys

    Simon

  2. Hmmm I figured out a way to add a category for a level, but it means I cant have the user also select a genre category for their post, for example I could set the category setting in the body post settings to bronze silver or gold for each seperate form for each level, but as soon as I add a category selector for the poster to choose genre themselves, this option dissapears. How can I have multiple categories for the post, one set automatically by a variable in the form, hidden of course, this would set the bronze, silver or gold level category, and also have a user selectable category too (for genre of post for example).

  3. Wow I think I figured it out so thought I'd post it here for others...

If I add a post category field, populate it with just the category (ie bronze) and then set it to be viewed by admin only, then it will tag the post with the right category.

I would have to have seperate forms for each level, and get the user to select this before entering the form, prob by a HTML link to the relevant page. Then on each individual form I would have the level price set appropriately.

Waiting for the developer license upgrade code now so I can test this fully with the paypal addon.
