How can customer add additional fields (don't know how to call it)

  1. Hello.
Sorry for the confusing title, but I don't know how to address this in just a few words.
I'm working on a form where the customer can ask for an estimate.

At a first moment, he can choose the product from a drop-down menu and then fill out the other specifications, such as measures, quantities, styles, etc.

Now, say the customer wants to add more products, each one with their own specifications. Is it possible to add a "plus" sign that they can click and then all the fields related to a new product show up for them to fill them out? Or is my only option to duplicate all the fields above many times and have one lengthy form?

In other words, this is an example of what I would like:
Item 1: Product Type, Product Style, Quantity, Measures, Color, etc.
Item 2: Product Type, Product Style, Quantity, Measures, Color, etc.
Item 3: Product Type, Product Style, Quantity, Measures, Color, etc.
Item 4: Product Type, Product Style, Quantity, Measures, Color, etc.

Because each item requires three lines of fields, it would be nice if I could just diplay one item first and allow the person to add more as they need them. Can I do that?

There is the list field which will sort of be able to do what you want, but what you are really looking for is custom field sets, and Gravity Forms doesn't have that as of yet.

The only way to really do it is through conditional logic, like you had mentioned, with a finite number of fields, all hidden until the conditional logic is met for each one. Try the list field, and see if it will work for your project.

We hope to have custom field sets for repeating fields sometime in the near future.

  3. Thank you, David. I went ahead and did it through conditional logic. One dumb question, though: do I need to fill out the notifications tab or just leave it blank, with WP directing the message to the site owner's registered e-mail?

  4. You need to have admin notifications enabled, but you can leave the default details there. A notification will be send to the site admin email. However, if you uncheck the admin notification box, no notifications will be sent.

If you want more control over the notifications, fill out the details on the admin notification page.

  5. Thank you! I'm doing that right now.
