What template are you referring to? I'm assuming by list type you are referring to the new List Field?

If you are referring to the List Field then there is a merge tag for List Fields just like there is a merge tag for every form field for outputting it's value in places such as notifications, confirmation and post field content templates.

If you select the List Field from the insert merge tag drop down when the merge tag is parsed for the List Field it will output a list of items, the list items that were input into the field.
