HTML form import

  1. Is there a way to import a set of forms from html? I have several long survey forms with multiple choice (radio buttons) answers that would take too long to redo manually. I see that I can import from XML - is there an instruction set somewhere for converting the html form text to XML to prepare it for import? That could be automated and would therefore be an acceptable path.

Anyone done something like this or could provide pointers?

    Thanks.

  2. Nope. There's no import functionality for HTML forms or any tool to convert them to XML. Your best bet is going to be recreating the form in the form builder. You could potentially re-build them in XML but I'm pretty sure that would take you a lot longer and there is more potential for errors if you don't make sure and increment all of the field ID's etc. just so.

It sounds like it's going to be a bit of work either way if you're replicating really large forms.

  3. Dang. Would really like to see something like this added to the roadmap... or even a utility to convert to XML. There's a project for some ambitious regex expert.
