What I am trying to do seems pretty simple but I just can't seem to get it to work. When the users selects certain categories I want certain fields to be displayed - but if the user selects one of the categories that isn't one of the ones that I have targeted then I want the default fields to be displayed...
Any suggestions?
I've been reading down through the forums and I found that someone had asked the same question a while ago - I tried to implement what they had done - but with no luck. I am also having trouble with the conditional logic aspect and you can see what I am trying to do here:

If you select say "Arts" different fields are supposed to present themselves than say "Business" - but nothing seems to work...any chance anyone could help me on this one?
I will look into this. It sounds like the Post Category field is excluded from the conditional logic functionality. I will do some testing to confirm.
I think this may be what is causing my difficulty in getting the post categories function to work. when I use the GF to submit information as a post, it generates to uncategorized - possibly because I am using the conditional logic function to produce those categories.
What turned out to the answer to this?
(I will try to get GF working without the conditional logic on the category selection, but it is something that I would like to get fixed, if this is the problem.)
Gravity Forms conditional logic doesn't currently work on the Post Category field. The Post Category field won't appear in the conditional logic drop down. This will be changing in an upcoming release.
If the post category field isn't attaching to the post you need to make sure you used the Post Category field and not a Dropdown field to have the user to select the category. If you didn't use the actual Post Category field it isn't going to add anything to your post. Only Post fields add post data.

Similar to oxom, I am running a WPMU 2.9.2 installation and the Post Category field does not work correctly: all of the blog posts submitted by users through GF appear as uncategorized drafts, but I can see the post categories in the GF entries.
There is some conditional logic applied to my form, in that the first question users must answer is what type of information they would like to submit. And then only if they select "blog post", do all of the post-related fields appear.
I would be very interested to hear the response you provide to oxom. Or if you need to look more closely at our installation, I can create an admin account for you on our site.

If anyone is running Gravity Forms v1.3.12 and running into the Post Category field issue, contact me via email at carl at rocketgenius.com and I can send you an updated version of the plugin. We have fixed it, but haven't released it via automatic upgrade yet.
@newball and @generation.europe I have emailed you with an updated version of the plugin that resolves this issue. As mentioned above, if anyone else has encountered this issue and wants the fix just let me know and I can send it over. We will be releasing it via automatic update but prefer to first handle single fix issues ad hoc rather than immediately releasing them.
If anyone needs the fix to this issue and are currently running Gravity Forms version 1.3.12 (or older) an updated version of Gravity Forms is available to download right now on the Downloads page.
The updated version is listed as the Current Development Release and is v1.3.12.2, it fixes the Post Category issue.
It will be part of the v1.3.13 release once it is released via automatic upgrade. Until then you can download the updated version from the Downloads page to fix the Post Category bug.
