Import Form is Failing

I'm trying to import a form I created in October, unfortunately I'm getting an error saying:

"Forms could not be imported. Your XML export file is not compatible with your current version of Gravity Forms."

    I'm using v1.5.2.3
So I went back to a local site install I have running v1.4.5

    Same error.

I took a peek at the xml file, and near the top it said
    <version>134481920</version>

Maybe that's helpful, maybe its useless. Either way, can you point me in the right direction to recover this form?

It's big - took me a while to build out originally, and would be difficult to redo anytime soon.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

  2. Can you upload the XML file to a web server somewhere and provide us a link to it so we can download it and take a look?

Maybe I need to try importing with an older version of the plugin? Like 1.4 or 1.3.x Then upgrade the plugin and see if that works.
Is there an archive of older plugin releases I could try it with?

  5. What you are linking to is not a Gravity Forms XML file. It looks like some sort of database export file, judging by the names used (ex. Leafs) it appears to be something to do with Headway. But this is not a form XML file which is why it won't import.

You're right. I saw the .formentry extension and assumed it was for gravity. Thanks for your help Carl, sorry for the mistake.

  7. I am trying to do the same, and I am converting a csv file into a xml file and it seems to work fine. But it won't upload. FYI - When I select the "save as" file on my Mac Desktop it says "XML spreadsheet" is that the problem?

Hi Court24 - There is no CSV file that will import a form into Gravity Forms. Can you give me more information on what you are trying to do?

  9. well when I exported the forms my computer saved them as csv files. Then I converted them to xml files and now I can upload them to the new site.

  10. Gravity Forms will export the file with an XML extension. It's possible your browser or your desktop changed it or saved it as CSV. I'm glad to hear you were able to make it work.
