in post title unwanted - marks between words example: the-word-has-dashes

  1. Ha
Dana quick question. We use the form on http://www.adszoom.com for members to post ads on our site. The issue we are having is if you go to a post example: http://adszoom.com/babykidstuff/need-a-babysitter-ny10460united-states/ you will see the - marks between the words in the url. We cant have them in there for SEO reasons. we are using /%category%/%postname%/ for permalinks structure. We posted with out the GF form via the default word press post tool and did not have the same - between the word, is there a setting in the form to fix this? If now what could it be and how do we fix?

That's how WordPress separates words in post titles, so you would have to give me more details on how you posted without GF to make it not have the dashes between words. Even your page: http://adszoom.com/social-networks/ has dashes between words.

  3. Hi

Yes that was me (the page-) the form is used for posts from logged in users. The issue that im having is in our other blog http://www.thebartertown.net ,, if you copy the title of one of the posts from that site into a google search bar it will bring you to the page that the post is indexed on at google follow. If you do this with http://www.adszoom.com just copy and past a title into the google search it dose not find the page. I know this is a very basic way to fine the indexed pages but its the best way. For some reason we just cant get adszooms post results indexed so we narrowed it to this,, follow?

I appreciate your concern, but millions upon millions of blogs use WordPress, and have their post URL's with dashes in the URL and are indexed and found in Google listings. This isn't a Gravity Forms issue, more of an SEO/Search issue, and we can't really fix that. You might want to look into some WordPress SEO details, and try Google Webmaster tools to better understand what is happening. It really isn't an issue with the dashes.
