Include non-field data in entries database or email?

I'd like to view non user generated field data in my entries database. For example, let's say I have a basic html field that I've used to write a paragraph of instructions for the various user input fields below it. Entries into those fields will show up in my database, but not the paragraph of instructions itself (html field).

Even though this isn't a user generated field, and would be redundant for every submission, I'd still like it to be included in my entries database (and possibly in a confirmation email.)

Is there a way to include form data - that isn't specifically user-entered field data - in the entries database and/or a confirmation email?

Add it as a hidden field?

As Kyle has said, you can have hidden fields that will be recorded into the database, but not show up in the front-end. You can do a lot with hidden/invisible fields.
