Installing Beta and updates

  1. I realize that because 1.5 is still in Beta it means manually installing instead of auto installing. When I tried it I had to rename the GF folder for it to work. That was on a different installation. I'm wondering if one should completely delete the 1.4.4 version then install the 1.5 version. I also wonder when the final release is made will it be recognized and auto install or will it also be manual.

Are we looking at several more beta's before this goes final? When should we anticipate the next beta release?
    Thanks

  2. You shouldn't rename the default folder. You should remove the existing 1.4.4 install and just have the beta version in the default "gravityforms" plugin folder.

Yes, there will be another beta version, probably released the middle of next week. If you're running the beta version, you should still see the latest stable public release when it's available for auto-upgrade.

  3. Thanks Kevin. Quick unrelated question. I was just editing my form fields and now get this error: Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/hoffman/public_html/dev/wp-content/plugins/gravityforms/form_display.php on line 746

    on this page: http://dev.hoffmangraphics.com/join-soco

Any idea what caused that? I can remove the form and recreate but don't wnat this happening regularly. I'm on 1.4.4 on this install.

  5. Kevin,

If we remove the v1.4.4 before installing the beta, will we lose our existing forms? I want to move to the beta, but don't wish to rebuild all the forms again.

  6. DanaEpp, the forms are stored in the database so you shouldn't lose them just by manually deleting the plugin files. Of course, you can always use the form export functionality as a backup if you'd like but it's not a necessity.

Just go to the plugin page, deactivate the plugin, then delete it. You can upload the new beta version, activate it and you should be good to go with all of your existing forms.
