IPN Question

  1. Hi, Question regarding the IPN, I am using this on multiple sites with only one PayPal account. Confused about setting up the IPN since it will change based on the site. Do I really need to enable that in PayPal? What will happen if I don't?

  2. Fred,
The IPN URL will be set automatically by the Add-On when sending requests to PayPal. All you need to do is make sure you have IPN enabled in your PayPal account.
The reason we have the IPN URL in the settings is that PayPal requires you to enter a URL when enabling the IPN. We may need to change the verbiage to make it more clear.

  3. But you can not enable IPN in PayPal without specifying a URL... And If I am using GF with PayPal add-on on multiple sites to the same PayPal account there is a problem no?

  4. The IPN URL you specify on PayPal is just the default. That URL will be overridden by the URL that is automatically passed to PayPal via the Add-On (which is specific to each site).
    Does that answer your question?
