is this a common error???

    to add: this is from one of the many forms on the site, they are all suffering from the same problem

    No this isn't common. It looks like you have a plugin or theme conflict causing the form to post via GET rather than POST. You will have to test for theme and plugin conflicts by following the instructions here:

    ok, is there something to look for that might be causing the form the use get rather than post?

    jquery or php??

    I fixed this, there was a javascript that was causing the forms to use GET instead of POST. nice one for the heads up
