License usage for Client's sites

Would one you use their own license on a client's site or is there a way to generate a sub-license of some sort that is tied to your primary developers license and subscription in someway?

    Thank you.

  2. Typically WordPress developers that include Gravity Forms when creating a site for another person work with that person to purchase their own Gravity Forms license. That way the Gravity Forms license is in there name and they can access support resources and renew the license on their own as needed.

If you purchase a Gravity Forms Developer License you can use your license on client sites, however this poses issues if you are ever no longer managing their site or if you yourself choose not to renew your own Developer License. They would also not have access to support resources to ask questions, etc. when using your license.

Because of this, the best way to handle this is to have the client purchase their own Gravity Forms license.

But if the client site needs an Add-on (like the Paypal integration), then they'd need the Developer license, which is clearly overkill (in terms of "unlimited sites") and far more expensive than the $39 price for a Personal license. Why can't we just purchase the Add-ons separately?

  4. Check out this thread, specifically this piece from Carl:

  5. I will be launching a site soon that currently in development is using my developer license. This site also uses the Directory plugin found here: http://seodenver.com/plugins/gravity-forms-addons/ which you folks probably have no control over but I mention it in case it's important.

I'm not absolutely sure by reading your licensing page ... Is it legal for them to use the Personal License as long as they are not using any of the plugins mentioned on your site here: http://www.gravityforms.com/add-ons/

I realize if they ever decide to use one of the plugins mentioned in that link, that they would have to upgrade their license.

Edited to add: since there are already a number of forms set up on this site using my license, what is the best way to convert it to their license without having to re-do all the forms?

    Thanks!

  6. Deb, the license isn't tied to the forms. You would just simply need to paste in their personal key which will give them access to updates, as well as access to the forums. And yes, a personal key will work for them as long as they are not using the add-ons that are tied to the dev license.

If you leave your key in, then you would be the go-to person if they run into any issues and you would be the one to post in the forums, and/or since you have a dev license - use priority support.

Does that help answer your question?

  7. Yes, thanks. I was just confused because it appeared the maybe in order to use any add-ons they had to have more than a personal license. I just didn't want to give them the wrong cost. Thanks much.
