    I just want to link to one of my forms without first creating a page on our site. Is this possible? If yes, can you explain how to do this?

    No, it's not possible like that. It needs to be embedded in a WordPress Post or Page. The simplest way is to create a very sparse page template, with no header, no footer, no sidebar, and then use that page template for a page where you embed your form.
