can we get a list of plugin conflicts
can we get a list of plugin conflicts
The current version of Gravity Forms conflicts with the WishList Member plugin. This conflict will be resolved in the next release and a patch is available for the current version that we can provide people on an as needed basis.
There is also a slight conflict with the WPML plugin. If you use double quotes in links on your confirmation page when editing your confirmation page text, WPML prevents the form changes from being saved. If you use single quotes, it works. We have been in touch with the WPML development team regarding this. WPML shouldn't have anything to do with saving changes in our plugin.
Those are the only 2 that I am aware of. If anyone has any others, please post them here and we can look into them.
Carl,
Did you ever look into conflicts with Qtranslate? On one of my clients sites I can't even activate Gravity Forms without it completely breaking the site structure. I bought a single site license, but have yet to be able to actually use the plugin because of the problem.
-Nic
The issue with qTranslate has been resolved as has the issue with WishList Member. The latest versions of Gravity Forms should work with both.
There appears to be a plugin conflict with Semiologic's SEO plugin. I am working to contact the guys at Semiologic to resolve it on their end.
Hi all...purchased Gravity forms and updated to newest version. I also am using the newest version of Wishlist member. The two are not working together on my site.....When I activate Gravity forms, I lose everything on the site...can't see anything. When I delete the plugin, things are back to normal. Using version 1.3.7. Any help would be appreciated.
I tried to upload and activate version 1.3 as well. Same issue...
Hey Monica,
You are going to want to deactivate Gravity Forms and then delete the plugin files.
Download the latest version (v1.3.8) from the Downloads page on this site and then re-upload the plugin and re-activate it.
Let me know if that works.
I have a test site running Gravity Forms and the latest version if WishList Member and it is running just fine so there is something else going on.
Also try deactivating WishList, activating Gravity Forms and then activate WishList. Sometimes quirky things happen with WordPress.
If none of that works let me know and we can take a deeper look.
Hey Carl,
Thanks I will try this.. I was really looking forward to using it especially for the custom post feature...Thanks, Monica
Woooh!!!! Thanks for your help...it is something else. I de-activated all of my plugins and then tried just activating the 2 - Gravity and WL Member. There are working fine together, so it's off to do some snooping. Thanks for your help. Not sure what else the problem is, but will get to the bottom. Thanks again Carl,
Monica
Thanks Monica, if you need any additional help just get in touch!
Hi Carl, can you create a ste-by-step guide on how to integrate Forms with Wishlist in order to be able to collect additional information about each member. As Wishlist form only collects data according to Wordpress Users form we would also like to get more details, can we run 2 together and have part of the fields created by Wishlist and part of the fields by Gravity? Please advise what's the best way to do this. Many thanks!
In order to use Gravity Forms to add data to user meta you would have to write your own custom code that uses an API hook to take the form submission data and insert it into the user meta for the user id that submitted the form.
It is possible, but requires knowledge of PHP and WordPress to implement. Gravity Forms doesn't have built in user meta interaction, we plan on adding user interaction in a future release.
I do know it's possible to do because I know of a user who has done it and uses it to manage additional user data that users can submit *AND* edit.
How proficient with PHP and WordPress are you?
Hi - Although GF appears to work with Wishlist Member, the Wishlist Member developers have told me there's a conflict. The conflict is this: If you set limited access to a protected page/post or area on a page/post, such as an area containing a GF form, and set the duration of that access to 24 hours (to allow a fairly basic form of pay to post), Wishlist Member is not deactivating member-only access to the protected area after 24 hours. You'd probably only know this if you'd extensively trialled Wishlist Member with GF Forms and spoken to the Wishlist Member developers, as I have. They've said they hope to fix the conflict, but at the moment there's no fix I know of.
The only way around this problem is to use the Wishlist Member sequential upgrade feature, but in a way that actually downgrades a member's access rights after the designated period.
I really hope either GF or Wishlist can fix this conflict because the two plugins would be a marriage made in heaven (well, a heaven of sorts).
Cheers
Richard
I hear you Richard, unfortunately this one is going to all be on WishList to resolve.
Gravity Forms just outputs the form on the page. It doesn't do anything with user access or roles. It doesn't have anything to do with the other functions of how WishList works.
We have tested Gravity Forms with WishList, and have looked extensively at the WishList code. I'll refrain from going to deep into my thoughts on the WishList code base. I'll just leave it at this: i'm not surprised.
Hi Carl,
Not that proficient! :) I don' need necessarily to insert the details in the database, just collect the information and email me back or export in Excel. At the moment I've got Wishlist form redirecting to gravity form and then to the members' home page but this means that members have to fill in some of their details twice (or even more if take into account paypal!).
Thanks!
Gravity Forms can already export to a CSV file that can then be imported into Excel. Again, it is possible to do more advanced integration but you would need to be very proficient with PHP and WordPress in order to do so.
Hey.
Totally new to Gravity Forms.
It is sad to read this thread as just last week I purchased GF (I was banging my head on a wall trying to learn TDO Mini Forms), and stumbled upon GF and it is just so easy to use. Love it! I don't know PHP and so this solution is just perfect.
My plan was to use GF with WishList and create an e-directory wherein companies could subscribe and then create their own custom directory of their services. However it doesn't look promising.
I agree with Carl, it would be great because GF is so powerful. Hopefully there will be a work around sometime in the near future.
Cheers
