Lost all the entries

  1. Hello,

We where running a campagin for a customer, and collected information from about 2200 of their customers.

When the campagin where finished we removed all the fields and entered some text about the campagin beeing over. We did not remove the form itself.

When we looked at the form today, to export out all the entries, it was empty.

    Is this a bug?
Is there anyway to retrive the content?
Do you really lose every entry when you remove text fields / radio buttons / etc?

This is not a bug. If you remove the fields, you lose the data that was stored in those fields.

You can schedule the form so that when the campaign is over, you prevent access to the form, and show an alternate message. In the future, you should do that rather than modify your original form.

    Schedule form
This feature allows you to schedule the form. By turning this option on you will be presented with a Start Date and End Date field. You enter a date range to limit the form so that it is only available during these dates. You can also configure a message that is displayed to the user if the form is expired.

I'm thinking about the best way to recover these entries. Do you have a database backup from prior to when you modified the form? Something like BackupBuddy maybe? Can you make a backup now to ensure nothing further is lost? Do you have a backup of the original form? Do you have email notifications for all the entries?

  4. I hope that will work for you, to restore from a backup.

In the future, please schedule the form and show an alternate message after it's expired, rather than modifying the form by removing all the fields.

  5. I just realized when deleting a field from a form that there is a dialog with a warning that when you delete a field you lose all the entry data associated with it. That dialog should have popped up every time you deleted a field from you form. If it did not, there may be an issue with the popup, maybe a popup blocker in the browser or something?

Were you able to restore your entries from backup?
