Mailchimp Specific Fields

    I don't understand how to setup the merge tags for these Mailchimp hidden fields: MEMBER_RATING, OPTIN_TIME, OPTIN_IP CONFIRM_TIME, CONFIRM_IP LATITUDE, LONGITUDE, GMTOFF, DSTOFF TIMEZONE, CC REGION, CLEAN_TIME, CLEAN_CAMPAIGN_TITLE, CLEAN_CAMPAIGN_ID.

    Those merge tags are all built in to Mailchimp. How is Gravity Forms related? They would not be set up in your form at all I don't think.

    I know they're built in Mailchimp, and I expected that they would be filled automatically. But I'll paste below, the fields that appear in my Mailchimp settings. They have to be mapped.

    The fields you listed initially, "MEMBER_RATING, OPTIN_TIME, OPTIN_IP CONFIRM_TIME, CONFIRM_IP LATITUDE, LONGITUDE, GMTOFF, DSTOFF TIMEZONE, CC REGION, CLEAN_TIME, CLEAN_CAMPAIGN_TITLE, CLEAN_CAMPAIGN_ID" those come from Mailchimp. MEMBER_RATING, for example, is calculated by Mailchimp. See their documentation here http://kb.mailchimp.com/article/how-do-you-determine-the-ratings-for-my-member-activity

    Reading their documentation, I don't see any way you can affect that field. The other fields are similar. You can't set "CONFIRM_IP_LATITUDE", for example. They take the IP address of the computer which was used to click the confirmation link, and do a GeoIP lookup on the IP to determine the longitude and latitude.

    I've looked through their documentation and I can't see any information to the contrary. Please share the information you have if it indicates you should be able to set these values. Thank you.

    If I use a form that I can generate at Mailchimp, those fields are populated. If I use the Mailchimp addon for Gravity forms, all I can capture are the email, name, etc... the basic contact information. So, as I said, when I choose a list in the Mailchimp settings, I see these fields and no way to map them.

    I will check with the development team on this issue and see if there is a way to capture that information in a Gravity Form. You are the first person to ask about that in these forums. Thank you for your patience.

    After talking with the development team and reviewing the Mailchimp API documentation, it appears that some, but not all, of these fields can be set:

    • Optin IP
    • Optin Time
    • Location
    • Language

    For the ones they support, we will consider adding support in the future. However, it is not currently possible to set these values when subscribing someone who uses your Gravity Form.
