Make Placeholder Text disappear on "click"

  1. Hi,
How do I make the placeholder text field disappear (clear) when a user clicks on it. This is a standard function in most forms and am surprised not to immediately see it here.
    Thanks!

  2. You can accomplish this using this 3rd party add-on.

    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/gravity-forms-placeholders/

It's not built in to Gravity Forms.

  3. Thanks for the link - but the label does not disappear on click, so don't really see the point.

  4. The label should disappear on click: that's what it's designed to do. If you have installed the plugin and the labels are not disappearing, please post a link to your site. The add-on requires jQuery and JavaScript, so if you have a JavaScript error, it might prevent this add-on from working properly

  5. Thanks Chris, Is there a way to post private login credentials? (it's in maintenance mode)

  6. Please send me an email at chris@rocketgenius.com - there is no PM functionality here.

Since you are a developer license holder, you could instead use our Priority Support form: http://www.gravityhelp.com/priority-support/

Either way, please include a link to this topic so we know what you're talking about when we receive your message.

  7. I did last night, it is fixed now, did you do it? Thanks...

  8. I did not fix the issue and actually never saw a problem. As you indicated in your email, it's possible the page was cached on your end. I believe the plugin works as expected. As to your other question, it is not possible, with that plugin, to use text other than the label as the placeholder.

  9. I am not able to get this plugin to work either. It just pops a field below the placeholder text when the placeholder text is clicked.

I'm sorry matt, can you link to your site so we can see what you mean? This add-on that we recommend is a third party one and as such wasn't developed by us, and so you may be required to contact the author for support, but I'd like to see if you are having an issue with the plugin or its interaction with your theme.

  11. Sure David, here it is. http://foodintegritynow.org

I turned it off because it's not working well. I have a developer license as well.

    Thank you.

If you turn it off, I can't really test anything though...
