Membership Site with Gravity Forms

  1. Hi,

I'm looking for plugins and resources that work with Gravity Forms in order to make a membership site.

I understand that Gravity Forms only takes care of the registration and payment process, but are there resources available to handle things like a user account page, renewals, cancelling, and content accessibility?

I see there's a members plugin that might be able to handle the content piece (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/members/) can anyone weigh in more on the other elements? Is anyone doing this and can weigh in?

There aren't full blown membership features built into Gravity Forms or added via any of our current Add-ons. Renewals, cancelling and more would require a great deal of custom developed code. There are roles plugins that might help you extend Gravity Forms to provide the content access piece.

  3. Can you elaborate on those plugins? How-to's? Resources?

Well, I was thinking something like Role Scoper or Role Manager:

There are tons of role related plugins on the WordPress plugin extend:

As for how-to's and resources, I don't know of any off hand. I'll ask the developers if it has come up before, as I'm relatively new to the team.

Will the new Gravity Charge plugin enable these full blown membership features like renewals, canceling and more, in Gravity Forms?

My boss said "Yes". We don't want to promise too much yet as there are multiple things in development, but that is one of the many goals of the Add-on.

Thanks, David. I've already been using Gravity Forms w/ payment add-on, user registration, and user account features to power a BuddyPress membership site for the past year - so I just wanted to better understand the Gravity Charge offering to see if what I use could be helpful to others that may not meet the Gravity Charge use case.

It seems the main use case for Gravity Charge will be for powering "content-based" membership sites for theme or plugin providers who have some kind of product to sell & distribute, in contrast to "member-based" membership sites for organizations whose only product is "affiliation."

Or, another use case would be using Gravity Charge to manage listings, i.e. hosts paying to list (post) their accommodations?
