More than 1 form on page causes duplicate entries to be recorded

I have placed several of the same form on this page:

    http://bostonapartments.charlesgaterealty.com/just-listed-boston-apartments/no-fee/

Now when a user fills out the form, I'll get duplicate entries for each form on the page.

For instance, there are 6 forms on the page now and if a user were to fill out 1 of them, 6 duplicate entries from that user would be recorded and the user would get 6 automatic email responses as well.

Any reason why this happens, and how to prevent it?

    Thanks!

  2. Interesting issue, the problem is it's the same form. We have run tests having multiple forms on the same page but it was always with different forms. What is happening is because all those forms are the same form, it is processing all of them when you submit the form. We will have to look into this and see what we can do to prevent it from happening.

What you may want to do is not show the form on the page that lists all the properties and instead only have the form on a detail page for that property that you have to click through to see.

Another option would be to have a link to a page that has the contact form on it. From there you could even pass it information on the property in the link and pre-populate some fields (such as the property id number or address).

    Thanks for the speedy response!

I figured I could use one of those work-arounds you mentioned, but I thought it would be good to mention the issue.

I have actually tested using links to the forms and using multiple pages, etc, but we get the best response rate doing it as shown, so if there is a solution to the duplicates that would be helpful for me. (I suppose I could just create multiple versions of the same form for now too but that could get tedious).

    Thanks again!

  4. Until we look into this issue and come up with a way to make it work, the other solution would be to make one instance of the form that appears in the sidebar rather than under the post. So it is always visible on the page.

Making multiple instances of the same form would get tedious, I agree. We will see what we can come up with on our end.
