Multisite auto import for new site is not working

I'm using this auto import function for months without any problem. Suddenly it gives me an error message, when I create a new site in the network and I go to the new site's admin:

Warning: file_get_contents(http://premiumwp.hu/wp-content/uploads/gravityforms-import.xml) [function.file-get-contents]: failed to open stream: HTTP request failed! HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found in /home/surbma/public_html/wp-content/plugins/gravityforms/export.php on line 194

In the location http://premiumwp.hu/wp-content/uploads/gravityforms-import.xml is a valid export file. After I refresh the admin, the warning message is gone. The form is not imported to the new site.

I just refreshed to WP 3.3.

  2. Hi, Surbma,

The line 194 being referenced is when the import file is trying to be opened. Are the permissions on the file such that it can be opened for reading?

Is the path in the wp-config for GF_IMPORT_FILE still valid? If so, it does sound like a permission issue since you see the file in the location where the error is complaining.

Check your permissions on the file/folder and make sure you are able to read the file.

    Hi Dana,

thank you for your reply! I've modified the permission as your recommendation and now I get the following error message:

Warning: file_get_contents(http://premiumwp.hu/wp-content/uploads/gravityforms-import.xml) [function.file-get-contents]: failed to open stream: HTTP request failed! HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found in /home/surbma/public_html/wp-content/plugins/gravityforms/export.php on line 194

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/surbma/public_html/wp-content/plugins/gravityforms/export.php:194) in /home/surbma/public_html/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 866

The admin page is even not loaded, it only shows this error message. When I refresh the page, the admin is loaded, but the form is not imported. Any other idea?

  4. Are you able to import directly using the XML file by going to Forms --> Import/Export --> Import Forms?

If not, can you send me your import file so I can try it on my system just to eliminate there being something wrong with the file - dana@rocketgenius.com?

I may need to get into your admin and take a look as well. If possible, can you email me an admin login to your site? Do not add any login info to this actual topic since everyone would see it.

I am able to import the form using this exact file. It is now loacted here: http://premiumwp.hu/gravityforms.xml

I don't want to give admin login to my site. Is it possible to tell me, what to do or what to see?

  6. Hi, Peter,

I realized I did not get back to you after your last update to this post. Were you able to get it working? I did test the xml file you provided and it imported correctly for me. If you haven't already, turning on debugging in your config file may provide more errors to narrow down the issue.
