Need advice on successfully setting up a successful Paypal form

  1. I've read all the documentation and many posts, but want to make sure I set this up correctly.

My form will need to give people an option of:
    > One time donation
    > Recurring donation
So, would what kind of field would I need to make sure Paypal understands which one the donator selected? It is currently in a Radio Button field, but that doesn't seem like it would work.

There are 9 pricing options set up in a Product Field (dropdown). I have name, email, phone number, etc, fields. I also have a "Total" field. Do I need an "Options" field? (I seem to recall previous versions of GF Paypal would require an Options field?) If so, how do I set up the Options field?

Once the IPN is enabled on Paypal, and I have the Paypal settings set up, when the form is finished, it will automatically charge the donator for the "Total" amount?

Please advise. This is for a large non-profit organization.

  2. What you would do is create TWO PayPal feeds for the form in question. On each of the feeds you would enable "conditions" (the last option in the feed) to use that appropriate feed based on the user selection of either one-time or recurring. Then each of your feeds would have the appropriate settings and conditions so the correct feed will fire once the form is submitted and passed to PayPal. It will charge the total of the selected product fields.

You don't have to use options, you can just use product fields. Let me know if you get stuck on the feed setup and post a link to your form as well so we can check it out and advise further if you get stuck.

  3. Just to make sure I'm doing it correctly, in the "Transaction Type" field the "Donations" and "Subscriptions" will always be recurring, right? And "Products and Services" will always be one-time purchases?

I have another field in the form I created that allows them to choose frequency of recurring donations (monthly, quarterly, yearly). How will paypal integrate that?

  4. Also, after I created the first feed, which I connected the Donations form to (for the recurring donations), and I went to create the 2nd feed (for the one-time donations), the "Donations" form was not appearing as an option to connect the feed to. Apparently, once you connect a form to a feed, you cannot connect that same form to any other feed.

This is very bad. I need the same form (Donations) to have both recurring and one-time donation options. Please help.

  6. Could you go ahead and submit a priority support request for me and reference this forum post. In your request go ahead and give me a WP Admin login and I can take a closer look for you. Just address the request to me. This is the fastest way to get support and it's a perk of the developer license.
