Negative Values in Form Fields and Notifications

I have a form that asks people to submit financial projections that can be negative. I used number fields, and the field does accept "-1000" as an input. However, when that field is included in a notification email, it comes out as a positive number: "1000". How can I get the form to pass the negative value through to the notification email. Am I doing something wrong, or does gravity forms not handle negative numbers? Here is the form:

    Thanks!

  2. The numeric field doesn't allow the - as it only allows numbers.

Use a text field instead and in the description just ask for only numbers to be entered.

OK. That's a reasonable workaround for this form - I believe the product roadmap calls for adding the ability to perform some basic calculations with form fields. I'm guessing that won't work if I'm using a text field for one set of numbers and numeric fields for others. Is there any plan to add the ability to understand negative values in numeric fields in the future? I would think that would be quite useful for any users working with financial related forms. How does the cliche go ? "Especially in this economy..."

  4. GF is a critical part of several sites we're developing. Just wanted to chime in on the subject of handling negative numbers and (more generally) formatting numbers for use in finance applications of GF. Little things like the negative sign and thousands separator would be very helpful to us as well. For the time being, we've used the text field workaround, though it does force us to choose between capturing the actual value input and proper validation.

  5. This would be a great addition. We use GF for employees (sales, etc.) to submit invoices, estimates, etc. We give discounts at times and it would be great to have that automatically calculated into the total, using the product fields.

  6. I would also like to have this, at a min pull the validation check.. I know the calculator works properly in real time, when I go to submit -$200 for example it is spitting back an error at me.
