No update via plugins

  1. It occurred to me today that I haven't been able to update GF as of 1.3.11. Basically in settings it'll say that there's a new update, but when I go to Plugins there's no way to select updating it..

I've scoured through the forum but I couldn't find anything on that. And yes, I have tried disabling all other plugins and other trickery.. :D

  2. Have you tried completely removing your license key, saving the settings, then re-entering the key?

  3. Yes I did. In fact in one site I had to re-enter the key anyway even though I had entered it previously and updated through it...

  4. Okay, just occurred to me, there was a bug in version 1.3.11 when paired with WordPress 3.0 where the update notifications weren't working properly. Thats probably what you're seeing (or not seeing). That was corrected in the last version 1.3.12.

You'll need to grab the new version from the downloads page and manually update it this time to 1.3.13. That should get you set moving forward.

But thanks Kevin, I'll give that a go and if I run into trouble again I'll come running here. Thanks ;)

  6. Thats probably what the issue is. We released 1.3.12 prior to WordPress 3.0 being released specifically to fix a compatibility issue with WordPress 3.0. They changed a hook we were using for automatic upgrades, so older versions wouldn't work properly. So you probably upgraded to WordPress 3.0 without first upgrading to 1.3.12 and now the automatic upgrades don't work. So yes, you would need to manually upgrade. Good news is automatic upgrades will then work...
