Non-submitted conditional drop-down field showing in admin notification

  1. Drop-down conditional fields whose conditions have not been met and have not been submitted are appearing in the admin confirmation email with the entry 'Please select'. These fields do not appear to the user or in the WordPress entries menu- only in the confirmation email. Under admin notification settings I have selected {all_fields} (All Submitted Fields).

    Form is here: http://trianglenewhome.com/contact-me/leasepurchase/

Even if user selects "Will you be applying for a lease-purchase with a spouse or partner? NO", I still get the field "Do you know approximately what your spouse or partner's current credit score is?: Please select: in the admin notification even though this field was not seen by the user.

  2. Do they appear in the User Notification? They shouldn't be appearing. Are you using {All_Fields} or the version of All Fields that outputs hidden/empty fields also (because that is an option)?

  3. I'm experiencing something very similar. Drop-down conditional fields whose conditions have not been met are appearing in both the Admin and User Notification emails.

We're also seeing Section Break Field Labels that are set as conditional, but only the labels and not the descriptions. I'd prefer that these were not included in the email if possible.

We're using All Submitted Fields {all_fields} in the email Message.

  4. @bhwebworks What version of Gravity Forms are you using? The latest 1.5.1.1 release?

  5. When I go to Forms -> Updates it tells me, "Your version of Gravity Forms is up to date." In Plugins it says that Gravity Forms is running 1.5.1.

Does 1.5.1.1 have a fix for this?

  6. @bhwebworks We did make some changes in 1.5.1.1 that may impact this so I would suggest updating, and giving it a try. If you still have this issue you can get with us and we'll see what is going on.

  7. Carl, your downloads page recommends using the Automatic Upgrade functionality, but on my site that is saying my copy of Gravity Forms is up to date, even though it's 1.5.1. What do you suggest?

  8. Carl- OP here- sorry I'm just now replying- must not have subscribed!

As far as I know, I'm using {All_Fields}. I haven't seen an option for "the version of All Fields that outputs hidden/empty fields also" but I'll check. AFAIK, they are not appearing in the user notifications.

  9. Just checked again. I'm using " All Submitted Fields". I don't see an option for "the version of All Fields that outputs hidden/empty fields also"????

  10. It's not include in the drop down, it's an undocumented feature most users don't need. Here is the variable:

    {All_Fields_Display_Empty}

  11. I did a manual upgrade to 1.5.1.1 by extracting the zip file, FTPing, and overwriting.

I did a couple test submissions but the user email wasn't coming through, so I went to the notifications settings, and without changing anything I saved it again.

Next try the user's email came through, but it looks like before, with Section Break Field Labels in the email, along with the Drop-down conditional fields.

  14. I'm getting this same issue. For some reason, it's coming through on the email and not on the entries dialog?

  15. Any progress on this?

  16. Hi,
I have the same issue in version 1.5.2.3
The conditional fields whose conditions have not been met and are not submitted appear in the user notification.
This happened after I selected values in the settings of the conditional field.
Do you have a solution for this issue?

  17. Hi Jawes,

To clarify, you're saying that when you set values in a conditional field, then change a field value which hides that conditional field, the value you set in the conditional field is still being submitted?

  18. Hi David,

I am using values for the required conditional fields to trigger the validation correctly for the dropdown conditional fields.
In this form I have several conditional fields. The confirmation message for the user includes these conditional fields. But only the one selected by the user should be submitted.
Now the user confirmation email shows the selected conditional dropdown field and also the first field of every conditional dropdown the user has not selected in the form.

  19. Hi,

To clarify the issue I give an example of the confirmation message the user receives.
I translated it into English as the form is in Dutch.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Subject: Your registration [name of the service] [Select your choice] [Select your choice] [Select your choice] [Select your choice]

    Dear Mr.,
Thank you very much for register for the course [Name of the course] [Select your choice] [Select your choice] [Select your choice].
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So the conditional fields which have not been visible to the user when filling in the form do appear in the confirmation as the first option of the dropdown with the text 'Select your choice'.
The brackets are only there for showing that these are the form fields. They do not show up in the confirmation!

Before using values in the dropdown fields everything worked fine.

Here is the link to the form:
