Notification Emails

  1. http://spiritualprideproject.org/forms/camper-registration/

I'm working on my registration forms for a camp. I'm having issues with customizing notifications.

    1) I have a very long email address (applications@s...org) that receives all the applications for camp. When I get the notification (which are working fine) it is showing up as that email address when I would prefer it to have a name like From: "SPP Applications" instead of the applications@s...org. Is there a way I can change the format on the notifications page using " or < or something else to make the name SPP Applications show up in the from line when I receive notifications through my personal email?

    2) Is there a way to send a copy of the application to the person who applied automatically?

  2. #1 - this is possible with the 1.5 beta which will be released as 1.5 very soon. This described the functionality, not the release date:

#2 - to send a copy of the application to the person who applied, you would set up a user notification, in the same place you set up the admin notification. For this to work, your form has to have an email address submitted.

  3. All applicants must provide an email address. How do I do it?

  4. In your form, add an email field (from the Advanced field types) and make it required. Then when you go to your notifications, on the bottom of that page you will see "Enable email notification to users" - check that box, then select your email field as the "send to field." It's similar to the admin notification, but in this case going to the user who submitted it.

  5. I have an issue, where I have set this up and it's not sending the user notification.

Any suggestions as to where to start troubleshooting?

  6. Gravity Forms just uses the built-in WP mail function of WordPress to send out notifications.

Can you check for theme/plugin conflicts? I've seen instances where a plugin was a cause of this:

Also, you could try the SMTP plugin perhaps, a lot of people have success with this:

  7. It wasn't the theme, nor the plugins, but installing the SMTP plugin made everything work as expected.

I suspect the server (not one I normally use) has some weird restrictions on mail()

Thank you for the prompt and effective pointers!
