Notification Emails DON'T work

  1. My form on http://www.savannahduilawyer.com/contact isn't sending out any emails. I have the administrator and user notifications boxes checked. It used to work. Now it doesn't. I contacted Bluehost Server Top Technical support. They looked at the server logs and could not see the form generating an email at all. They have put a test php script on my account to see and show that php mail is working. The test is at http://www.savannahduilawyer.com/mailtest.php. Please help me fix and identify why your plugin isn't generating any email.

  3. Please follow the instructions here to test for theme/plugin conflicts as a first step to troubleshooting:

  4. i also have this problem with my notifications. -- stopped working recently after a gravity feed update
according to JustHost the site is not logging errors and not showing mail in our mail logs.
how much disruption / trouble can I get into by following the above troubleshooting -- sounds complicated.

Gravity Forms itself does not send out any e-mails, it simply pushes data to WordPress which has its own Sendmail files (wp-mail.php). If this file is unable to send e-mails, we ask that people run the troubleshooting steps that Rob has listed, and if they still have issues to install and configure a SMTP plugin. How complex or complicated depends on your skill, but we've tried to make it as simple as possible.

  6. so i deactivated all the plugins and only activated gravity form plug in. still did not get any notifications. I did not try changing the theme since I have a studio press child theme that has been customized and am not sure what would happen if I change the theme to twenty two.

You will most likely want to try an SMTP plugin. Unfortunately, this is more difficult than the troubleshooting steps, and you may need to find someone with knowledge on configuring the plugin that you choose.

  8. i did update wordpress to 3.4 on jun 16 which is right about when this problem started. i nave not updated genesis or studio press theme for a while. If it isn't the plug ins, what will happen if I try changing the theme to twenty one to test if wordpress is the problem?

Looks like there is a bug in WordPress 3.4 that makes it so you can't send e-mail if PHP SafeMode is On. Can you or your host check if this is the case?

Here's the bug report on WordPress' site:

  11. Thanks for the update. WordPress did indeed fix that bug and submitted a patch upstream for PHPMailer.

Just a suggestion that worked for me, make sure Non-Conflict Mode is on. It fixed my issue and did not break anything else.

  13. Hi, I am also having trouble with the notification emails not working.. when i test the user gets their notification email but the administrator doesn't. I tested with the SMTP plugin and the test emails will send via that... but I get nothing via gravity forms... this is the same after switching to other themes. the entries are being logged in the system but nothing ... :(

    any ideas ?

  14. Can you try a different email address for the administrator, to be sure it's not a mail delivery problem on that end?

With the WP Mail SMTP plugin active, you still get no administrator emails from Gravity Forms?

  15. I am having the same problem. I tried all the fixes above, except calling the host company, which I will do now. I have this on over 40 websites and this is the first time I have had this happen. I suspect it is the hosting co.

  17. Ok we now have tried everything. Host checked php, and spent 30 minutes looking around.
I unchecked all plugins and added smtp plugins which is working but not for the form.
I will open a ticket now.

  18. "No-Conflict mode" can be enabled with a check box on the Forms > Settings page. Screenshot: http://minus.com/m3xuCnjQe/
