Notification failed after working for 5 months

  1. Dear Gravity Forms,
    Gravity Forms Admin Notifications worked Feb-July 2011.
    Then, in spite of no changes to forms, the administrator notification has consistently failed.

    Updated to Gravity Forms 1.6.3.3.4: made no difference.
    I'm using WordPress WordPress 3.3.1.

    I have:
    - Tested in preview
    - Tested with no other plug-ins active
    - Tested with theme 2010 activated
    - Tested email addresses outside Wordpress. Mail forwarding is working via web hosts to me

    What do you suggest now? About to buy for another client and I need solutions.

  4. Gravity Forms doesn't send the email notifications, your web server does. Your web server is what sends the email, Gravity Forms just executes the wp_mail() function call and asks your web server to send the email. If there is any problem with emails not being sent, it's going to be a problem with your web server.

    Have you tested your forms in the formbuilder preview? Are notifications being sent to spam? Who is your web host? Have you tried using the SMTP plugin yet?

  5. I have tested forms in preview.
    I regularly check spam folders.
    No email notification has come through.

    What do I log for in the web server logs to prove that WordPress did actually send the request to the server?

    I'm not sure about server logs, but you could easily write a simple WP plugin to force WP's mail call to happen, thus allowing you to be somewhat more sure -

    Also, you could ask your host for log files to see if anything is popping up.

  7. Option 1: write a plug-in is not easy for me, neither is digesting the info on that page.
    Will contact hosts to check log.

    If your host is savvy, he/she will know what to look for. It will likely be an smtp error or a wp-mail issue.

    The host says 'phpmail() is disabled for security reasons and has suggested we used the SMTP authentication feature provided by WordPress
