Notification to Administrator

  1. Have a form that works fine.. but I want the 'From Email' to show the email that was put in the "My Current Email address is" block on the form. Any address, {admin_email} or x@yahoo.com works when put in the first block of the 'From Email' line, but if I leave the first block bland and the 'OR' is set to select the drop down of 'My Current....' an email is not sent to me. The 'From Name' line works when I use the "OR" option. Is there something I'm missing or is there a piece of 'code' I can put in the first block, like the {admin_email} that is the default? I'm not a coder so can't really get into editing code behind the form! thanks.

  2. Can you post a link to this form online? I am having a hard time understanding what you want to do and why what you've tried has not worked. If this is an admin setting for the form, I will need you to export the form as XML (Forms > Import/Export menu, then "Export Forms", the center item on the top menu) and send it to me at chris@rocketgenius.com so I can take a look at how it's been configured. Please include a link to this topic if you need to send me an email.

    Thanks.

  4. Hi Michael. I received your email. It appears that everything is configured correctly. I would recommend installing an SMTP plugin for WordPress to handle email delivery for you, rather than relying on the built in MTA (mail transfer agent) of your host. We normally recommend either of these two plugins:

    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/configure-smtp/
    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-mail-smtp/

Configure one of those plugins with the details for an SMTP server you can use with this host, then test your forms again. If the SMTP plugin does not do the trick, we will have to get into it more deeply. Thank you
