"Notification to User" being cc'd to Admin as well

  1. I am creating a staff directory for my high school and want parents/students to be able to use forms to communicate with teachers.

I created a rough draft sample form at : http://www.amadorvalleyhs.org/?page_id=325

When the notification to user has been sent, confirming that the message was received and sent on to the teacher, the same confirmation is being sent to the admin. Is there a way for it not to do this? Especially since I want to have forms set up for over 100 teachers.

I've tried looking this problem up in the forum but haven't found it.

    Thank you! Erik

  2. Do you have the admin notification turned on or off? Sounds like you want only the user notification? By default, on the notifications page, the admin notification is enabled and email goes to the {admin_email} for the website. If you do not want that, uncheck the "Enable email notification to administrators" on the Notifications tab.

  3. Hi and thank you for the response.

I deselected the "enable email notification to administrators" on the notifications tab. I still received the confirmation user email that had been received by the teacher. But I did not get the message that the user sent the teacher.

Could this be an SMTP issue? I needed to download an SMTP plugin to have the user message sent to its intended recipient.

    Thanks,

    Erik

Yes it could be. What SMTP plugin did you use, and what do its settings look like? Does it have an option to not e-mail admin? Maybe it is adding something to it that auto-cc's the admin WordPress user.

  5. It does seem to be the SMTP plugin. I'm using Configure SMTP. And I don't see an option not to email the admin.

Hmm...Any other recommended SMTP plugins out there?

    Thank you,

    Erik

Here is another one that is widely recommended: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-mail-smtp/

You might want to contact the author of the other plugin though as they may have a hidden setting to turn that off.

  7. Thank you. I haven't quite solved the SMTP problem quite yet but it definitely does not seem to be a gravity forms issue. Thanks again for your responses.
