Notifications not complete after upgrade

  1. Hello,

We have had a form and its been working for some time, but when we upgraded a couple of weeks ago, it is not sending all of the information in the admin email.

I have done a custom notification so that the format was more concise, but it worked perfect until the update. The really odd thing is if I resend manually, it is complete.

This appears to be happening every time now. I even tried deleting a field and replacing it to see if that fixed it and it did not.

    Thanks.

  2. When you say custom notification, do you mean you've created your own HTML email with the use of merge tags? Is this for the user or the admin notification? Can you export the form and send the XML file to me to rob@rocketgenius.com so I can take a look at it? Please reference this post in your email.

  4. John, are you running the latest version of Gravity Forms and WordPress?

  5. Yes.

  6. This sounds like a PHP Memory issue. It sounds like your site is running out of PHP Memory occasionally and when it does it results in erratic behavior like you have described.

There is nothing in Gravity Forms that is going to trigger or cause partial data display. The only thing that ever causes partial and incomplete data display is PHP memory issues (and rarely MySQL memory issues).

I would suggest increasing your available PHP memory. Here is a tutorial on how to do so:

    http://www.nerdgrind.com/increase-wordpress-and-php-memory-limit/

I would suggest increasing it to a minimum of 128M and preferably 256M or more. Memory usage is really going to depend on each individual sites. Most hosts default to a very low amount of PHP memory by default such as 16M or 32M.

This could also be what is causing your occasional issues with PayPal itself, especially if it's happening erratically.

this sounds similar to my post of "missing name and address in notifications". any solution to this?

  8. My ISP was already at 128M in the php.ini. They bumped to 256. I have added statement to my wpconfig.php for 256 as well and we'll see. I am skeptical because it never happened before. I applied an upgrade to gravity forms and it became an issue. I got a pre-release to fix it and then a subsequent upgrade later the issue returned. Not to mention, if I resend the admin notification, it works every time.

  9. Adjusting the PHP settings has not cured the issue.

  10. John, can you send me an XML export of the form and also forward me a notification you have received or a screenshot with this symptom.

  11. We're having a similar (erratic) issue. I have a large form sending a notification email using {all_fields} that is only sending the first 25 of 50+ fields in the email. The shorter forms seem to have no issues, but this particular form does - though not consistently. Our PHP is set at 256M. Prior to upgrading, this was never an issue. http://reachrescue.org/adoptable-pets/dog-adoption-application/

  12. kkatzmmeow, please export your form as XML (Forms menu > Import/Export, then the top center menu choice, "Export Forms") and email it to me at chris@rocketgenius.com and I will install it and take a look for you. Thanks.
