Oops!!! Page not found

  1. I just installed the Forms Software on Wordpress 3.1.1. I was able to build a form but when I go to preview the form I get a Oops!!! Page not found error. How do I get this to work?

  2. This is going to be a site specific issue, if you send us a WordPress admin login via our Contact Us form we can take a look. But it sounds like an issue with your web host as the preview page does exist, so it shouldn't be returning a 404 error like it is.

  3. I have emailed this information to you also. This is a server issue of some sort, possibly file permission related.

You will see that this URL returns a 404 error:

    http://simoncoffin.com/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/gravityforms/preview.php?id=1

However, if you FTP into your site and browse to your wp-content/plugins/gravityforms folder you will see that preview.php does indeed exist. But your server is acting like it does not and returning a 404 error.

I would first suggest FTP'ing into your site and setting file permissions on the gravityforms folder and all files and subfiles to CHMOD 755. If that doesn't work you are going to have to contact your web host. Explain to them that you are trying to browse to a file that exists on your server, but the server is returning a 404 and acting like it does not exist.

  4. I have the same issue. It used to work just fine and now, on all sites, I simply get a blank white page for the preview...

  5. What has changed in your setup? Have you updated any software or installed any new plugins, or changed hosts? The plugin will not stop working all on its own. Something had to change, either with your installation (software versions or installed software) or your host.

Also, a blank white screen is almost always a 500 Internal Server error. Those will be logged somewhere. If you have access to the logs you should be able to see what sort of error is preventing the preview from working.

  6. I'll take a look at the logs. The only changes are updates to WordPress, Genesis and other plugins so maybe there is a conflict there...Thanks for the suggestion.

  7. Make sure everything is up to date (Genesis, WordPress and Gravity Forms) then try a different browser to be sure there are no problem with old, cached JavaScript and jQuery.

If that does not work, the logs are your best bet because it will show exactly what error is causing the white screen.
