Pages menu dissapeared from admin sidebar

After installing Gravityforms I've noticed that all of the sudden my Pages menu item had dissapeared. I found kind of a solution, but it requires messing up the code, which can ruin the whole thing when updating.

    Sort of solution

Does anyone have a proper solution?

  2. Sounds like you have set a fixed position for some of your custom post type menus, and one of them is conflicting with Gravity Forms.

    See if this applies:

The menu on the left side was generated by the Magic Fields plugin.

I just ran a clean install and then activated Gravity Forms and Magic Fields. After creating the sixth menu item, the menu item 'Pages' again dissapeared.

Does this mean Wordpress allows only a certain amount of custom menu items of does Gravity Forms not allow more items to be above it?

  4. I am also having this issue with Magic Fields and Gravity Forms.

Just Gravity Forms activated: Forms label sits below Comments.
Gravity Forms and Magic Fields activated with few custom write panels: Forms label sits between Media and Links labels.
Gravity Forms and Magic Fields activated with many custom write panels: Forms label makes the Media label disappear.

The trick I have found to is to change "add_object_page" in the GF code to "add_menu_page" (with a position of 50.5 to make sure it sits below Comments) like in the link above. Of course, this is not ideal.

Was a Hook ever added like mentioned in this post with the same problem? http://www.gravityhelp.com/forums/topic/wpml-gravity-forms-plugin-conflict

  6. Hi. I just checked with the development team. The hook has not been added, but we will add it in the next major version. For now, please continue with the core modification as you have done. When the next release comes out, you will lose that modification but the hook will exist to enable you to change it programatically. Sorry for the inconvenience.
