The whole error message is :

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or '}' in /hermes/bosweb/web117/b1175/ipw.soramaki/public_html/financialnetworkanalysis/wp-content/plugins/gravityforms/gravityforms.php on line 46

I am trying to activate the plugin after moving the files to the plugins folder. I have WordPress 2.8.4. with the following other plugins:

  2. This is in the FAQ. You hosting is running an old verison of PHP. Gravity Forms requires PHP 5.

Many hosts allow you to change the PHP settings via your hosting control panel, but you may have to contact your host to get them to switch it for you.

  3. Sure enough, it was PHP setting. I switched from PHP 4 to PHP 5 and the install worked perfect.
